Job Description

Our client based in Germany is looking for a Head of Quality Management to join them on a permanent basis. This is a key role that will require the individual to hold Form 4.

You will need to understand the certification process of new aircraft and be able to pass the Form 4 interview with the LBA.

Your Tasks:

  • Disciplinary and technical management of the "Quality Management" department
  • Maintaining the Company's recognitions as an Approved Developer
  • Supporting activities to obtain approval as a manufacturing organization
  • Setup and management of the entire QMS, including approval from authorities
  • Strategic presentation of the audit program, the Q projects, KPIs and improvement programs in line with the company goals and within the framework of organizational change management
  • Supplier management, audit and improvement programs
  • Training and post-/qualification of employees regarding internal processes, EU and national regulations
  • Strategic planning and control of changes to aircraft types for certification
  • Maintaining our DOA by overseeing the internal and external audit process
  • Monitoring operational quality performance based on standard metrics to identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement projects (e.g. non-compliance cost reduction)
  • Support for obtaining approval as a manufacturing company
  • Cooperation with the parent company
  • University degree in engineering, materials technology, management or a related field combined with relevant experience in quality management, assurance and control
  • At least 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry in quality management
  • Expertise DOA and experience in conducting audits to these standards (lead auditor certification would be an advantage)
  • Very good formal and informal leadership skills
  • Extensive quality management experience with a strong focus on measurable continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of cause-and-effect analysis and problem-solving methods (5-Why analysis, 8D reports, fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams), decision-making methods (Pareto analysis) and risk analysis (FMEA, 5×5)
  • Proven track record of leading and developing a quality function in an international environment.
