Job Description

As a Driver/Loader, you will work closely with your team to collect household waste and recycling from around Somerset. This role operating Refuse Collection HGV and loading vehicles with recycling and waste, delivering a high standard of service, and always ensuring compliance with health and safety rules and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform daily vehicle checks, promptly reporting any issues.
• Collaborate with your team to collect household waste and recycling.
• Load vehicles with municipal recycling and waste materials.
• Maintain high standards of customer service.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Always adhere to contractual requirements.

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
• Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Demonstrate reliability with good communication skills.
• Experience working with Stillage Vehicles, Kerbside Loaders, and Refuse Collection Vehicles.
• Willingness to be part of a successful, hardworking team.
• Ability to manage the physical demands of the role, including walking, lifting, pulling, and repetitive movements.
• Experience working in the waste industry.
