Job Description

Our client is a dynamic and growing business with a busy depot located in Mid Devon. They are currently seeking a Transport Operator to coordinate the day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth running of the depot. This role is critical in maintaining efficient and effective transport operations, enhancing customer relations, and managing driver activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily transport operations, including dispatch debrief and work in progress for Chilled and Ambient operations.
• Collaborate closely with customers to ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage and debrief drivers.
• Handle customer relations and various administrative duties.
• Address queries via email, phone, and face-to-face interactions.
• Assist in producing KPIs and daily statistics.

Essential Skills:

• Preferably, experience in a similar role with a solid understanding of traffic management systems.
• Strong communication skills at all levels.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of the local area.
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
• Solution-oriented mindset with flexibility in approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
