Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Boiler Service and Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team. This role involves traveling nationally to service and maintain boilers, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to customers. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical or electrical engineering and a proactive approach to problem-solving.



Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and Maintenance: Conduct regular servicing and maintenance of boilers at various national locations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Assessment and Troubleshooting: Accurately assess and estimate parts and labour required for servicing, breakdowns, and further action work. Troubleshoot and resolve issues, attending breakdowns as necessary.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed reports on breakdowns, including required parts lists and recommended further actions. Compile comprehensive servicing reports and maintain high standards of paperwork.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical support to customers over the phone, assisting clients and the Aftersales team with technical issues.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety processes and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Installation Assistance: Assist the installation team with tasks as needed.
  • Travel: Be willing to work away from home during the week when required.


Minimum Core Knowledge, Skills & Disposition:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Engineering Skills: Proficiency in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work proactively and independently while also contributing effectively to the team.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong skills in planning, organizing, and prioritizing workload.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills with colleagues, other trades, and clients. Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Licensing: Full Driving License.


Desirable Knowledge & Skills:

  • Additional Skills: Welding experience.
  • Licenses: IPAF/PASMA License.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Experience with biomass systems.
