Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is essential for maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of factory equipment.

Requirements:

  • Perform general mechanical maintenance on factory equipment including conveyors, fans, bearings, chains, sprockets, and similar machinery.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, develop solutions, and execute repairs.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to enhance operational efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of spare parts.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Fitter, preferably within heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on a variety of equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
