Job Description

We are excited to assist our successful client in recruiting a Shift Manager for their bustling packaging department located in Mid-Devon.

Reports to: Packaging Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Support and oversee a team of Production Operatives, providing assistance as needed.
• Management: Lead, manage, and develop your team, ensuring they are informed of any company changes.
• Compliance: Strictly adhere to all company policies, including Health & Safety, Hygiene/Housekeeping, and Quality Assurance.
• Deputization: Act as the Packaging Manager in their absence.
• Efficiency: Minimize product and material loss.
• Maintenance: Ensure all factory equipment is maintained, cleaned, and serviced regularly.
• Problem Solving: Analyse and resolve any issues to prevent negative impacts on the client and the company.

• Skills: Excellent managerial, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical Proficiency: Computer literate.
• Presentation: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentability.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
• Personal Qualities: Trustworthy, punctual, hardworking, and self-motivated.
• Teamwork: Capable of working independently or as part of a dynamic team.
• Decision Making: Competent in making positive and successful decisions.
• Integrity: Honest and comfortable contributing to business improvements.

Qualifications and Certification

• Experience: 2-3 years of leadership, managerial, or mentoring experience (certification or proof preferred).
• Industry Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
• Additional Certifications: Any relevant certifications will be advantageous.
