Facilities & Operations Manager

Location: Thurles Region, Co. Tipperary

Our client, a growing biotechnology and animal nutrition company, is seeking an experienced Facilities & Operations Manager to lead operations within a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a proactive operations professional who can drive production performance, maintain high compliance standards, and support the continued growth of the business.

Key responsibilities: 

• Lead day-to-day production and manufacturing operations
• Maximise output, efficiency, quality, and plant performance
• Manage facility maintenance, utilities, equipment, and infrastructure
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP+, health & safety, and regulatory standards
• Lead, develop, and support operational teams
• Monitor KPIs, production targets, downtime, and performance metrics
• Support future expansion and scaling of operations

Requirements include:

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Biotechnology, Food Science, Operations Management, or related discipline
• 5+ years' experience in a Production, Operations, Manufacturing, or Plant Management role
• Strong leadership and people management experience
• Proven track record in improving productivity and operational performance
• Knowledge of maintenance planning, continuous improvement, HACCP, and GMP+
• Experience within biotechnology, food production, dairy, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or a related sector is highly desirable
