IT Systems Support Specialist

Location: Waterford City
Salary: €40,000–€45,000 DOE
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Arrangement: Onsite

The Role

Our client is a well-established, locally owned business with over 40 years of experience in the builders’ merchant and DIY sector.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving the company's IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide IT support across the business.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

• Liaise with third-party hardware and software providers.

• Support operating systems, including EPOS, stock management and management information systems.

• Analyse systems data to improve systems and processes.

• Ensure appropriate IT security and backup protocols are in place.

• Keep up to date with cybersecurity developments.

• Support the company's website and social media platforms.

• Develop improvement scenarios, operating procedures and document processes.

• Champion the IT system and keep the business at the forefront of current technology.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years' IT experience.

• Relevant experience working with computer hardware and software.

• Experience developing improvement scenarios, operating procedures and documenting processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to understand and deliver systems to internal and external customer expectations.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

• Highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative.

• Ability to work positively as part of a team.

• A relevant degree or professional qualification is desirable.

• Retail experience is desirable but not essential.
