Sales Specialist 
Location: Wexford 

Optimize Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Sales Specialist on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing business within the hardware, building supplies, and home improvement sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional with an interest in doors, flooring and interior finishing products, who enjoys working with customers, building relationships and finding the right solutions for their projects.

The successful candidate will work with both trade and retail customers, providing knowledgeable advice across the company's product range, with a particular focus on doors and flooring, from initial enquiry through to quotation and order.

The Role

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable and professional advice to trade and retail customers, with a particular focus on doors, flooring and associated products.

• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions based on their project, style and budget.

• Prepare quotations, process orders and ensure all details are accurate.

• Develop strong and lasting relationships with existing and new customers.

• Follow up on quotations and enquiries to maximise sales opportunities.

• Work closely with suppliers to source products and confirm pricing, availability and lead times.

• Liaise with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.

• Assist customers with a range of products including internal and external doors, flooring, trims, accessories, hardware and related home improvement products.

• Keep up to date with product ranges, new products, trends and industry developments, particularly across the doors and flooring categories.

• Ensure the showroom and product displays are maintained and presented to a high standard.

• Deal with customer queries and resolve any issues in a professional and timely manner.

• Contribute to a positive, welcoming and sales-focused team environment.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience in sales, customer service or a related trade/building environment.

Experience within doors, flooring, hardware, builders' merchants, building supplies, home improvement or interiors would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing role.

• An interest in or knowledge of doors, flooring and interior finishing products.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• A confident and professional approach to sales.

• Good commercial awareness and a desire to maximise sales opportunities.

• The ability to understand customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions.

• Strong attention to detail when preparing quotations and processing orders.

• Good IT and administration skills.

• Excellent organisation and follow-up skills.

• The ability to work well as part of a team while also taking ownership of customers and sales opportunities.

• A friendly, approachable and customer-focused personality.

If you have solid sales experience, good customer skills and an interest in doors, flooring or the wider building and home improvement sector, we'd be interested in hearing from you.

Previous product knowledge is an advantage, but we're also looking for someone with the right attitude, commercial mindset and ability to build strong customer relationships.
