Site Engineer

Covering locations: Wexford, South Tipperary and Waterford
Note: Long term project coming up in Co. Wexford in Q4 2026
Salary: €55,000 – €70,000 DOE
Role Type: Permanent – Full-Time

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Engineer to join a strong and an established building contractor.

The contractor is delivering a mix of live and upcoming developments including a healthcare project, a new commercial build, and a pharmaceutical project due to commence shortly.

The successful engineer will join an experienced site and engineering team, working closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager, with strong technical support in place. The company has a consistent flow of repeat work with outstanding clients, an outstanding staff retention rate, and offers genuine longer-term progression into Senior Engineer and Project Management positions as the business continues to grow.

Responsibilities include: 
• Carry out accurate setting out using Total Station & GPS equipment
• Monitor works to ensure compliance with drawings and specification
• Maintain detailed records of site activities and quality checks
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery of works
• Assist in planning workflows, sequencing, and resolving site queries
• Work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager on programme
• Provide technical support during construction stages
• Promote strong site safety standards at all times

Requirements:
• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
• 2+ years’ experience in a Site Engineer role or similar (salary DOE)
• Strong setting out skills with Total Stations and GPS required
• Knowledge of quality processes and construction documentation
• Excellent communication with subcontractors and design teams
• Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
• Irish or UK experience is essential
