Site Manager (Site Set Up)
Location: Nationwide (Midlands & Southeast focus – travel required)

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Manager to join a growing contractor delivering energy infrastructure projects across Ireland.

This role differs slightly from a standard site-based position, as it will involve overseeing multiple projects from early-stage site set-up through to completion of civil works, before moving onto the next location. The works are primarily focused on site establishment, enabling works, and associated civils packages across various locations.

The role will involve regular travel, mainly across the Midlands and Southeast, offering strong variety in projects and long-term continuity of work. You will play a key role in ensuring sites are mobilised efficiently, delivered safely, and handed over in line with programme requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead site set-up, enabling works, and initial project mobilisation
• Oversee civil works delivery across multiple project locations
• Manage day-to-day site operations, workforce, and subcontractors
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
• Coordinate site activities and sequencing in line with programme
• Maintain high standards of HSEQ compliance across all sites
• Liaise with project teams, engineers, and key stakeholders
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates to management
• Manage site logistics, plant, materials, and resource planning
• Identify and resolve any on-site technical or operational issues

Requirements

• Third-level qualification or trade background in construction or civils
• 5+ years’ experience in a Site Manager position
• Strong experience in civils, enabling works, or infrastructure projects
• Proven ability to manage multiple sites or travelling roles
• Solid understanding of HSEQ and site compliance requirements
• Strong organisational and communication skills across teams
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
• Irish/UK project experience is highly advantageous
