Project Manager (Construction)

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a long-established Irish main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across the West.

The initial focus will be a commercial and retail development in Limerick, before moving onto further projects in Galway City and across the wider Limerick & Galway regions. You will be supported by experienced site and commercial teams, with a strong pipeline of secured work and clear long-term progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initial set-up through to final completion
• Drive programme, cost control, quality, and overall delivery
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and external consultants
• Maintain clear project controls, reporting, and documentation
• Lead client meetings and provide regular progress updates
• Plan and manage labour, materials, and subcontractor resources
• Ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, and quality systems
• Work closely with site teams to uphold health and safety standards

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Engineering or related construction discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in a Project Manager role with a main contractor
• Proven delivery of medium to large-scale building projects
• Strong programme management experience using ASTA or MS Project
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholders
• Solid contractual awareness and document interpretation skills
• Irish or UK experience required
