Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Patent Paralegal to work for our Manchester based client, a leading IP law firm.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring all incoming correspondence and accurately updating records including docketing deadlines on the internal database.
  • Performing quality checks in relation to trainee IP Administrators work, especially for new filings
  • Monitoring team tasks on a daily basis via the internal database.
  • Ensuring best practice is observed within the team by leading workflow meetings both virtually and face to face.
  • Dealing with various formalities including IDS’s, PoAs and assignments.
  • Supporting the IP Administrator and helping with workload during busy periods.
  • Preparing and checking complex reports including client reports.
Skills & Knowledge required:

  • CIPA qualified - highly advantageous 
  • In depth IP portfolio and procedural experience
  • Ability to build and maintain a constructive relationship with individuals at all levels, including delivering training where appropriate and leading the team to ensure all work is dealt with a timely manner
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Meticulous eye for detail, working consistently to high standards
