TEMP CHIEF ENGINEER – 50M HYBRID NEW BUILD (US Passport Only)

Package: $700 per day, flights + hotel covered

A highly experienced Chief Engineer is required to support the technical handover, commissioning, and delivery of a new 50m hybrid propulsion vessel. This role requires someone confident working solo, liaising with contractors, and operating unfamiliar systems immediately.

Additional Information:
This project involves supporting a 50m new build that is currently being delivered to the US. The temporary team will join the vessel mid-handover and must be able to integrate immediately with zero training or familiarisation window. The role requires a highly experienced, self-sufficient, and solutions-driven crew who can handle the following from day one:

• Delivery passage from Antigua to St. Thomas

• Unstowing all areas of the yacht following delivery transport

• Full interior and exterior deep clean after shipping

• Machinery and systems servicing alongside contractors

• Complete operational setup for charter readiness

• Relocating the vessel from St. Thomas to St. Barths for handover to permanent crew

Permanent crew will rejoin on 27 December, with charter beginning 28 December, so the temporary team must be capable of working fast, autonomously, and professionally under time pressure.

Only serious, over-qualified US passport-holding candidates who can step aboard and operate immediately should apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all engineering operations during delivery passage

• Lead the unstowing of engineering spaces post-transport

• Work alongside contractors to complete machinery and systems servicing

• Oversee hybrid propulsion checks, diagnostics, and commissioning tasks

• Prepare all engineering systems for charter-ready handover

• Maintain clear reporting to Captain and build team

Requirements:

• US Passport (mandatory)

• Chief Engineer experience on 40m–60m+ vessels

• Hybrid propulsion experience strongly preferred

• Strong technical troubleshooting skills under time pressure

• Ability to run an engine room solo during delivery

• STCW, ENG1, Y4/Mech equivalent or higher
