Package: $500 per day, flights + hotel covered
We are seeking an exceptionally capable and self-sufficient Temp Mate to support the delivery, handover, and charter-prep period for a 50m new build currently en route to the US. This is a demanding, hands-on position requiring someone who can confidently step aboard a yacht they don’t know and operate at a senior level immediately.
Additional Information:
This project involves supporting a 50m new build that is currently being delivered to the US. The temporary team will join the vessel mid-handover and must be able to integrate immediately with zero training or familiarisation window. The role requires a highly experienced, self-sufficient, and solutions-driven crew who can handle the following from day one:
Delivery passage from Antigua to St. Thomas
Unstowing all areas of the yacht following delivery transport
Full interior and exterior deep clean after shipping
Machinery and systems servicing alongside contractors
Complete operational setup for charter readiness
Relocating the vessel from St. Thomas to St. Barths for handover to permanent crew
Permanent crew will rejoin on 27 December, with charter beginning 28 December, so the temporary team must be capable of working fast, autonomously, and professionally under time pressure.
Only serious, over-qualified US passport-holding candidates who can step aboard and operate immediately should apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee deck department operations throughout the delivery passage
Manage bridge watches and support the Captain in navigation and vessel movement
Lead the external setup: deck stowage, anchoring ops, line handling, and tender ops
Direct deck team through full unstowing following delivery transport
Coordinate with engineering and contractors during machinery servicing
Oversee all deck preparations for charter setup in St. Barths
Maintain big-boat standards of safety, seamanship, and professionalism
Requirements:
US Passport (mandatory)
Strong Mate/Officer experience on 40m–60m+ vessels
Proven delivery experience and exceptional deck leadership
Confident running a team with zero onboarding time
STCW, ENG1, and all relevant officer certifications
