EXPERIENCED BOSUN REQUIRED FOR HIGH-STANDARD 43M PRIVATE/CHARTER MOTOR YACHT
Vessel: 43m Private Motor Yacht
Location: Mediterranean (currently in shipyard)
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: €5,000–€6,000 DOE + 13th month bonus
Leave: 60 days
We are looking for a strong, hands-on Bosun to lead the deck department on a 43m vessel that operates to strict 60m+ standards. This is a leadership role for someone confident managing a small team, directing workflow, and maintaining a highly polished exterior across demanding seasons.
The yacht is currently in the shipyard for the winter, so yard experience, contractor coordination, and deep product knowledge are critical. You must be able to step in immediately and guide the Deckhand day to day, ensuring maintenance tasks, safety standards, and timelines are met without supervision.
The program is fast-paced, structured, and run by a high-calibre crew — many with 60–90m backgrounds. The culture onboard is calm, professional, fitness-focused, and drama-free. This is not a party environment; it’s a tight, respectful, capable team delivering big-boat standards on a 43m platform.
Although commercially compliant, the vessel has been private use only this season - this may change next year. Owners are formal, high-end, and expect quiet, polished, discreet service.
The Bosun will report directly to the Chief Officer and Captain, managing all exterior operations including maintenance planning, washdowns, teak care, tender/towable operations, toys, safety gear, inventory, and directing the Deckhand.
If you’re organised, confident, technically knowledgeable, and can run a clean, efficient deck with high standards, this program offers stability, strong crew support, and the chance to work at a large-yacht level.

Maintain safety gear, conduct safety checks, assist with drills
Ensure all exterior and mooring operations meet big-boat standards
Uphold onboard professionalism and set the tone for the deck team
3+ years exterior experience on 40–60m+ vessels, charter experience a bonus
Previous Bosun or Lead Deckhand experience strongly preferred
Proven shipyard/yard period experience
Strong product and material knowledge: varnish systems, teak care, coatings, detailing
Confident tender driver (large RIB experience preferred)
Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
Polished, organised, and able to hit the ground running

STCW and ENG1 up to date
Clean criminal background check if requested
Active, professional, no-drama attitude
