Vessel: 43m Private Motor Yacht
Location: Mediterranean (currently in shipyard)
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: €4,000–€5,000 DOE + 13th month bonus
Leave: 60 days
We are seeking a skilled, motivated Deckhand to join a high-performance program that operates to large-vessel (60m+) standards. You will work alongside an experienced Bosun and Chief Officer, maintaining a tight, professional deck team. Excellent Captain in place leading the program.
The yacht is currently in the shipyard for the winter period, so strong yard experience, technical awareness, and excellent product knowledge (deck systems, maintenance products, materials, tenders & toys) are essential. This is not a role for someone learning as they go — you must arrive ready to contribute immediately.
This is a seriously well-run program: fast-paced, detail-driven, and held to big-boat expectations. The crew culture is calm, respectful, professional, and fitness-oriented — no party atmosphere, no drama, and no ego. Many onboard have 60–90m backgrounds, and the vessel operates with that same mentality and standard.
Although commercially registered, the yacht has operated privately with no charters this season, this may change next season. The owners interact formally and expect a polished, discreet service style.
You will be heavily involved in all aspects of deck operation: maintenance, washdowns, teak care, water sports, tender driving (depending on experience), winter-yard tasks, and general exterior upkeep. This is a tight, switched-on deck team where efficiency, communication, and professionalism are key.
If you’re experienced, proactive, tidy, and thrive in a structured, high-standard environment, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a strong program with top-tier crew and excellent support.
1–2+ years’ experience as Deckhand on 40m+ (or large-yacht equivalent), ideally with charter experience or demanding seasons
Proven shipyard experience – sanding, painting prep, masking, product use, contractors, safety
Strong deck product knowledge (varnish systems, teak care, coatings, washdown routines, stain removal, protection products)
Confident with large-yacht deck procedures and professional maintenance standards
Experience with tenders & toys (driving experience preferred but not essential)
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and initiative
Able to hit the ground running — not a training role
Fluent English
STCW and ENG1 up to date
Clean criminal record check if requested
Positive attitude, team-focused, drama-free
