Job Description

STEWARDESS / CREW COOK REQUIRED FOR 22M CLASSIC SAILING YACHT

Vessel: 22m Classic Sailing Yacht (Private Fleet)
Location: Mediterranean – Home Port St Tropez Area
Contract: Mid-February – End October 2026 | Potential for Return in 2027
Salary: €3,500–€4,000 + bonuses
Accommodation: Always ashore (home port + regattas)

A rare opportunity to join a beautifully restored, pedigree classic sailing yacht operated to an exceptionally high standard within a well-funded, British-owned private fleet. The program is dynamic, professional, and well-structured, with a strong focus on classic regattas, owner day-sailing, and maintaining the vessel to the highest level.

The Stew/Cook role is central to the smooth running of the yacht and ideal for someone organised, proactive, and confident working within a small, close-knit team. The right candidate will enjoy variety: interior management, simple/light crew cooking, guest service, and contributing on deck and during regattas.

We are seeking a mature, capable, and reliable Stewardess/Cook who is confident with interior management and simple crew cooking, and who enjoys being part of an active, professional sailing program.

For 2026, the position comes with increased support:

  • A Deck/Stew will assist during cruising periods

  • A shore-based stewardess will support during regattas
This structure has proven extremely effective and ensures a sustainable, well-balanced workload.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interior

  • Daily housekeeping, guest area upkeep, and general organisation

  • Guest service during day trips and occasional guest days during regattas

  • Laundry, crew uniform management, and race crew uniform coordination

  • Managing onboard interior budgets, credit card, and provisioning accounts

  • Interior preparation for regattas and fleet events

Food & Provisioning

  • Provisioning for guests and crew (with support from wider fleet when needed)

  • Preparing simple, healthy crew meals during non-regatta periods

  • Maintaining galley hygiene and managing dry stores and drinks

  • Note: A professional race chef is onboard for regattas – no guest cooking required

On Deck / Sailing

  • Basic deck support: lines, fenders, occasional helm/watch when trained

  • Participation in classic racing (training provided; enthusiasm essential)

  • Supporting with regatta turnarounds, light deck tasks, and fleet coordination

Winter Period

  • Assisting with inventories and organisational tasks

  • Supporting shipyard/refit activity as required (yacht hauled out locally)

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 1 season in a Stew/Cook or interior role

  • Proven organisational skills and ability to manage interior independently

  • Comfortable cooking light, healthy crew meals

  • Basic sailing knowledge (winch handling & knots at minimum)

  • Strong communicator, proactive, hands-on attitude

  • Active, healthy lifestyle; well-presented and professional

  • Driver’s licence (minimum 3 years for insurance)

  • Non-smoker/vaper preferred

  • Small discreet tattoos acceptable; no large visible tattoos

Preferred

  • 25+ years old

  • Sailing experience or strong interest in classic yachts

  • Previous regatta or race support experience

  • Able to handle busy periods with composure and good humour

  • Good cultural/team fit; interesting hobbies or active lifestyle
