ROTATIONAL CHEF REQUIRED FOR 43M MOTOR YACHT
Vessel: 43m Mangusta Tri-Deck (Private/Charter)
Location: Italy, Mediterranean summer cruising
Contract: Permanent with 6:6 (week) Rotation
Start Date: Early 2026
Salary: €7,500+ - open to negotiation
Leave: 6:6 Rotation – full package confirmed upon offer
*Please note this position is currently on hold*
We are looking for an experienced and adaptable male Chef to join a highly demanding but well-resourced charter vessel onboard a 43m Mangusta tri-deck. Currently in Italy for the winter yard period, so crew cooking with the potential to be brought to the owners residence to ensure you’re prepped with owners preferences ahead of the season. The owners are onboard frequently and expect round-the-clock service and a consistently high standard of food — including Russian-style dishes, plated service, and elegant family-style buffets. You’ll be joining a high-functioning, big-boat-standard team that knows how to operate smoothly under pressure.
This is a rotational position (6 weeks on/off). Ideally, you’ll have experience cooking for Russian or Ukrainian families, and understand the cadence of service: multiple meals per day, generous spreads, and intuitive provisioning. You may also be working alongside the owners’ 3x private household chefs during the season, so collaboration is key.
The interior crew is strong, service is formal and professional, and the galley is well-equipped. The program itself is intense, but incredibly well-backed – anything you need will be sourced, fast. No budget restrictions, private jet delivery if required.
This is a fast-paced, no-drama team with strong crew culture and high performance across all departments. A fantastic opportunity for a serious Chef who thrives under pressure, loves to feed, and isn’t phased by a demanding calendar.
The family are taking great care in ensuring the right placement for this role — interviews will be held with the Captain and current Chef, Owners representative and the female owner. There will be an opportunity for a trial period, as well as time spent within the Principal’s family home over the winter to get acquainted with the rest of the Chefs and family dynamics/preferences ahead of the 2026 summer season.
Plan and prepare all guest meals (typically 3 services per day)
Deliver a mix of plated service and family-style dining with high attention to detail
Create generous, visually elevated breakfast spreads including pancakes, smoked salmon, fruit platters, canapés, and more
Manage provisioning and galley operations with full autonomy and support
Cater to dietary preferences and crew meals (one tomato allergy onboard)
Work alongside or accommodate visiting private chefs from time to time
Maintain a calm and collaborative approach in a busy galley environment
Extensive experience cooking for high-net-worth private clients
Strong knowledge of Eastern European cuisine and service preferences
Excellent plating skills and confident family-style presentation
Ability to work with little schedule notice or last-minute changes
STCW & ENG1 (valid and up to date)
Fluent English essential
