Location: Mediterranean & U.S./Caribbean
Contract: Permanent, 10:10 Rotation
Start Date: August 2025
Salary: $8,500 per month, plus tips and bonus package in place
We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on male or female Rotational Chief Engineer to join a professionally run 40m (2024) charter yacht with a busy dual-season program and strong owner backing. This is a dynamic role on a well-established program that places high value on preventative maintenance, onboard standards, and cross-departmental teamwork.
The vessel operates a true dual-season rotation — Med in summer, U.S./Caribbean in winter — with charters already booked and an excellent reputation building quickly in the industry. You will join a rotational team structure (10:10) working alongside a strong crew, with a full handover period provided to ensure consistency and smooth operations between hitches.
Take full responsibility for the engine room and technical spaces during your rotation
Oversee all planned maintenance and defect rectification using IDEA PMS
Manage regulatory compliance, ISM/ISPS procedures, and flag/class requirements (Cayman flag, Lloyds Register)
Work closely with Captain and management for budgeting, reporting, and maintenance planning
Coordinate effectively with other departments for charter readiness and smooth guest operations
Provide detailed handovers and maintain consistency across rotations
Y4 CoC (minimum)
Previous experience as Chief Engineer on yachts 40–50m
Strong working knowledge of IDEA or similar planned maintenance software
Charter experience preferred
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive in approach
Strong communication and reporting skills
Valid STCW, ENG1, and all up-to-date certification
B1/B2 visa required or in-hand
Excellent checkable references
This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a busy, well-run charter program with long-term vision and a solid support network. The vessel is managed by a highly respected team and run to a high standard by a crew that values professionalism, positivity, and performance.
If you're a committed, capable Engineer looking for a secure rotational position on a growing program, we’d love to hear from you.
