Vessel: 60m Private Motor Yacht
Location: Caribbean/USA (shipyard until late October 2025)
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: $6,500 - $7,000 per month + healthcare + annual flight up to $1,500, 45 days leave
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Second Officer to join a highly private 60m motor yacht with a Caribbean/US cruising itinerary and potential New England and Europe plans for next year. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone ready to step up and take real ownership of the deck, ideally suited to a candidate based in or near the U.S.
This role is ideal for a career-driven deck officer with excellent team management skills, navigational confidence, and a strong product and safety knowledge base. The position will involve leading a deck team of three, overseeing maintenance and presentation to a high standard, and supporting navigational watchkeeping duties and bridge operations. The vessel is operated with the utmost professionalism and discretion, offering quiet, well-organised guest trips focused on high-end service and exceptional detail.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who is confident taking initiative and genuinely invested in the role. This is not a position for someone simply collecting a paycheck – we’re looking for someone who shows up, takes pride in their work, and builds morale and momentum on deck.
The owners are a well-travelled and experienced American family with a deep appreciation for yachting, having previously owned Feadships. While trips are quiet and relaxed, the service is precise and elegant – toys may not always be used, but they’re launched and retrieved regardless. The vessel accommodates 12 guests and 13 crew, with a highly private, security-forward atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise 3 deck crew
Drive tenders and oversee toy deployment/retrieval
Hold a navigational watch
Oversee deck maintenance to high aesthetic standards
Manage deck products and inventories
Uphold rigorous safety, security and operational procedures
OOW 3000GT or in progress (USCG 200t license also acceptable)
Strong tender handling experience
Prior team leadership experience
Product knowledge and proactive maintenance skills
Navigational watch experience
All relevant STCW & ENG1 certifications up to date
Based in or near the U.S. preferred
Strong references and a positive, professional attitude
This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for a capable and passionate officer to make their mark on a tight-knit, high-performing team.
