Job Description

ROTATIONAL CAPTAIN REQUIRED FOR 45M BUSY DUAL-SEASON CHARTER YACHT

Vessel: 45m M/Y | Cayman Flag
Location: Currently Fort Lauderdale | Bahamas/Caribbean summer program
Contract: Permanent with 2:2 Rotation
Salary: €10,000–€11,000/month DOE + Charter Tips + Annual Bonus & 13th Month
Start: Ideally mid-June (flexible for the right candidate)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Rotational Captain to join a proven, professional program onboard a busy and well-run 45m Cayman-flagged motor yacht. This is a rare opportunity to step into a true 2:2 rotation alongside a young, switched-on Captain who has been onboard since the vessel’s build. After three successful years running full-time, he’s now introducing a rotational structure and is looking for a like-minded, long-term partner—not a stopgap.

The yacht has been meticulously maintained since delivery, with all Class and Flag surveys recently passed without issue. She runs dual season (Med/Caribbean) with a well-balanced mix of owner usage and 4–5 weeks of charter annually. The program is active and structured—but not chaotic. This is not a rescue mission, and the team is looking for someone who can seamlessly slot in and support a high-functioning operation.

The owner is Swiss, sharp, respectful, and generous—with a semi-professional sporting background, he appreciates teamwork, structure, and communication. There’s a firm emphasis on crew retention and cohesion, and the current HODs have been onboard since build, with the rest of the crew minimum two years longevity. You’ll find a tight-knit, motivated team, strong standards across the board, and a very supportive working environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Master 500GT (minimum)

  • Fluent English speaker

  • Excellent leadership skills, calm presence, and strong charter background

  • Comfortable working closely with the owner and maintaining his trust

  • Proactive communicator who values collaboration over ego

  • Previous experience on 45–55m vessels ideal

  • Familiar with Caribbean/Bahamas and Med cruising preferred

  • Excellent checkable references

What You’ll Get:

  • €10–11k/month + Charter Tips

  • 13th-month salary guaranteed

  • Annual performance bonus potential

  • Paid flights to/from the vessel

  • Captain’s cabin

  • Long-term stable ownership with plans to maintain the vessel (not sell)

  • Full autonomy while onboard, with mutual transparency expected across rotation

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a thriving charter program under an owner who understands the business and invests in quality.
You’ll be stepping into a well-oiled machine, with time for a proper handover and low-pressure transition period. No micromanagement. No drama. Just a program built on mutual respect, good energy, and a strong team dynamic.

This is the Captain's third new build—he’s 34, experienced beyond his years, and hoping this is his long-term “swan song.” He’s not looking to compete—he’s looking for a partner.

If you’re ready to make a move for the right reasons, and not just until something shinier comes along—we want to hear from you!
