CHEF REQUIRED FOR STUNNING 45M SY, PRIVATE FLEET

Vessel: 43m Private J-Class Sailing Yacht
Location: Mediterranean
Contract: Seasonal, May 1st – End of October 2025
Salary: €6,000, negotiable for the right candidate

We are seeking a talented and adaptable male or female Sole Chef to join a stunning 43m J-Class yacht for the 2025 Mediterranean season. This is an incredible opportunity for a chef who thrives in an active, professional, and close-knit crew environment. The yacht follows a seasonal program, offering a balanced mix of boss trips and regatta events, where you’ll also contribute to occasional canapés for cocktail parties.

The owners are extremely personable and family-oriented, treating the crew with great respect. The wife is a true foodie, so we are looking for a chef who can deliver high-end, beautifully presented dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Expect three-course plated dinners for up to 8 guests, as well as healthy, well-balanced meals for 7 crew.

This is a young, energetic, and outdoorsy team who love to stay active—whether it’s wing foiling, hiking, or exploring new destinations. The yacht is run professionally but maintains a fun and friendly onboard atmosphere. This position is ideal for a chef who enjoys delivering exceptional cuisine in a relaxed but high-standard environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating elegant, seasonal menus with a Mediterranean influence
• Handling breakfast, lunch, and dinner service for owners and guests
• Cooking nutritious and varied meals for an active and health-conscious crew
• Managing provisioning, with a completely unrestricted budget
• Adapting to a small but well-equipped galley (custom fridge/freezer space available)
• Preparing canapés and cocktail party spreads during regatta events
• Ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient galley space

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a yacht chef or high-end land-based chef
• Ability to work confidently in a small galley – prior sailing yacht experience preferred but not essential
• Strong organisational skills, particularly with provisioning and storage management
• Positive, adaptable personality – team player who thrives in a close-knit crew
• English first language or fluent English skills (owners are Dutch/French but speak English onboard)
• STCW & ENG1 (unrestricted)
• EU/UK passport holders preferred for ease of travel
• Excellent checkable references.
