Job Description

CHEF REQUIRED FOR GORGEOUS PRIVATE FAMILY MOTOR YACHT

Vessel: 28m Private Motor Yacht
Location: Turkey with active Mediterranean cruising
Contract: Seasonal, to start May 1st until end of September 30th
Salary: €4,000 - €4,500 per month + end-of-season bonus

We are seeking a seasonal female Chef to join a stunning 28m private modern-classic motor yacht, cruising the Greek Islands and Croatia this summer. This is a wonderful opportunity for a passionate cook who thrives in an intimate, family-style setting and values a happy, healthy onboard environment. The role would suit a stewardess looking to transition into a chef role or a professional chef who enjoys working in a low-pressure, high-quality setting.

The program is very relaxed, private and family-focused, with only four guests – a welcoming Anglo-French family consisting of Mum, Dad, their 4-year-old daughter, and a Nanny. The crew of four (including the Chef) work closely together to create a warm and relaxed onboard atmosphere, and help out across all departments.

The yacht is currently in Turkey, with cruising plans for the Greek Islands and Croatia throughout the season. There is also a potential opportunity to travel with the owners for 2-3 weeks to cook at their home in the UK, so visa/work restrictions may apply.

Due to cabin arrangements onboard we can only consider female candidates for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing fresh, healthy, and beautifully presented meals for the family and crew.
  • Cooking in an open galley, ensuring impeccable cleanliness and organisation at all times.
  • Sourcing high-quality, local ingredients while cruising.
  • Creating simple yet elegant menus tailored to the guests' preferences.
  • Managing provisioning and ensuring a well-stocked galley.
  • Adapting meals for a young child while maintaining creativity and nutritional balance.
  • Potentially accompanying the family to their UK home for additional cooking duties.

Requirements:

  • Passionate about cooking, with experience in private settings, yachting, or high-end hospitality.
  • Would suit a Stewardess transitioning into a Chef role or a Chef seeking a more personal, relaxed setting.
  • Confident in preparing light, nutritious, and flavourful meals for both guests and crew.
  • Highly clean, tidy, and organised, comfortable working in an open galley.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and positive-minded, able to work closely with a small crew.
  • Holds valid STCW, ENG1, and Food & Hygiene Level 2 certifications.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK if accompanying the family.
  • Non-smoker and no visible tattoos preferred.
  • Excellent checkable references.

This is a rare opportunity to cook in a supportive and intimate family setting, hone your skills, and enjoy a beautiful cruising itinerary. The owners are personable, relaxed, and appreciative of great food and a well-run galley.
