TEMP CHEF REQUIRED FOR PRIVATE IBIZA BASED VESSEL, MAY - AUGUST

Vessel: 36m Private Motor Yacht
Location: Palma de Mallorca/Ibiza 
Contract: Temporary, from mid May to mid August 2025 
Salary: Flexible, Open to Negotiation

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join a prestigious 36m private motor yacht for a temporary contract. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and creativity while catering to the needs and preferences of the owner and guests. 

You will be providing meals for an active and experienced multi-vessel owner who enjoys family style meals, using locally sourced, fresh produce. Cooking for family of 6, as well as a crew of 8. Meals are all served family style (breakfast partially a la carte).

They enjoy American and Mediterranean cuisines and are relatively simple guests who enjoy a simple yet elevated culinary experience with excellent flavour profiles. Whilst keeping things simple, presentation is important. Please note the vessel is predominantly used as a day boat, where you will mostly be expected to just cater to one guest meal per day in addition to crew meals. 

As the yacht operates as a dayboat, meal plans are often last-minute—requiring flexibility, efficiency, and a calm demeanour. The ideal candidate should be highly organised, a team player, and able to manage provisions independently while at anchor.

The galley is spacious and well equipped, having been refitted in 2021.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare delicious and nutritious meals for the owner and guests, comprising of mostly one meal per day onboard.
  • Create diverse menus that cater to different tastes and occasions, including formal dinners and casual lunches.
  • Source high-quality ingredients and manage provisions to ensure freshness and variety, emphasising super simple, American/Mediterranean food styles.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the galley, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Stewardess to coordinate meal service and ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
  • Cater to special requests and dietary requirements with creativity and flexibility, including kids-friendly options like bread and chicken for lunch.
  • Prepare fresh, healthy crew food for a crew of 8.
  • Ensure that presentation is important, with a good flavour profile and simple but elevated dishes that meet the preferences of the owner and guests.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Chef on yachts or in high-end hospitality settings.
  • Culinary qualifications and certifications.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of American/Mediterranean cuisine.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent menu planning and presentation skills.
  • Creative flair and passion for food and hospitality.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This is a fun crew and owners!
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and guest preferences.
  • Valid STCW certification and medical clearance.
  • Excellent checkable references.
