Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a SHEQ Advisor to join a growing organisation within a manufacturing environment. The role will support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of health, safety, environmental, and quality systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.

The position plays a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, supporting operational teams, and ensuring continuous improvement across all SHEQ areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of SHEQ policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Identify operational risks and ensure appropriate control measures are in place.
  • Carry out audits of management systems and ensure corrective actions are assigned and completed.
  • Support communication and training to ensure employees understand their SHEQ responsibilities.
  • Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best practice.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and training sessions to promote SHEQ awareness.
  • Monitor environmental performance and ensure regulatory compliance is maintained.
  • Record, manage, and report incident and SHEQ-related data accurately.
  • Support ad hoc projects, reporting, and wider management requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety or SHEQ-focused role.
  • NEBOSH qualification (or IOSH minimum); training support may be available.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or similar systems.
  • Experience conducting internal and external audits.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and risk assessment processes (including RAMS).
  • Experience within manufacturing or heavy industry environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data management tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
