Chef Manager Vacancy.

Hours: 6:30am to 3:30pm, 45hrs per week, 42 weeks per year.

Salary: £38,000 per year

We are seeking a hands-on Chef Manager to support a strong kitchen team of 12. The role is within a Stratford (E20) school, serving 2000 students: ensuring the highest standards for food quality, and health and safety.

The focus of this pivotal role will be managing the kitchen’s health and safety, leading the team of 12 and working collaboratively with the rest of the team to ensure good service and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Management: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including staffing, training, and scheduling.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene, allergen management, and order procedures.
  • Paperwork & Compliance: Manage kitchen-related documentation, including stock control, ordering, and health and safety records.
  • Hands-On Support: Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed, working closely with the Head Chef and Cook.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of 12 kitchen support staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a large volume Business & Industry (B&I) setting or educational environment.
  • DBS Clearance: Must have a clean, current DBS check (an additional check will be conducted by the client).
  • Skills: Strong organisational and leadership skills, with a keen eye for detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Team Player: Willingness to step in and assist the team when needed, with a proactive and positive attitude.
