Preconstruction Manager / Director of Preconstruction / Senior Estimator

A nationally recognized General Contractor is seeking an experienced Preconstruction professional to join its growing Mission Critical / Data Center team in North Texas.

The company is open to candidates at the Preconstruction Manager, Director of Preconstruction, or Senior Estimator level, depending on experience and background.

This is an opportunity to take a key role in the preconstruction and pursuit of large-scale, complex data center projects, working closely with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and operations from early budgeting through GMP and construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support preconstruction efforts for large-scale Mission Critical / Data Center projects.
• Develop conceptual budgets, estimates, GMPs, and detailed cost models.
• Manage estimating and preconstruction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop pursuit strategies and support negotiated and competitive opportunities.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope, risk, and constructability opportunities.
• Lead value engineering, cost analysis, and scope development.
• Coordinate with Operations, Business Development, Design, and trade partners.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Participate in subcontractor procurement, bid leveling, and buyout strategy.
• Mentor and support estimating/preconstruction team members where applicable.

Ideal Background

• Strong commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience.
• Significant experience with Data Center / Mission Critical projects strongly preferred.
• Experience with conceptual estimating, budgeting, GMP development, procurement, and value engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple complex pursuits and work effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and project risk.
• Leadership experience is preferred for Director-level candidates.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
