Project Manager (GSM-R Migration, Nokia R99 ), EU Passport

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead a major GSM-R migration project in Portugal.

The assignment involves managing the migration and vendor swap of an existing Nokia GSM-R (R99 Core) network to a new supplier. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and driving all deployment activities while ensuring successful delivery across customer, vendor and technical teams.

The ideal candidate has proven experience managing GSM-R deployment, migration or network replacement projects within railway telecommunications and possesses solid knowledge of Nokia GSM-R R99 Core networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration and vendor swap of an existing Nokia GSM-R (R99 Core) network.
• Manage the overall project lifecycle from planning through deployment and handover.
• Coordinate customer, vendor and technical teams throughout the project.
• Drive project planning, scheduling and execution.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
• Monitor project progress and report status to stakeholders.
• Ensure deployment quality, successful cutover and final acceptance.
• Maintain close communication with all internal and external stakeholders.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as Project Manager on GSM-R projects.
• Strong knowledge of Nokia GSM-R (R99 Core).
• Experience with GSM-R deployment, migration or vendor swap projects.
• Railway telecommunications experience.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
• Experience managing on-site deployment activities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Fluent English.
