A smashing role has become available for a Part Time Handyman in the local area. We would love to hear from candidates who have some previous experience in a similar role and are looking for a permanent, long term position, with a stable and trustworthy business. If you are happy being out and about and would enjoy assisting in the upkeep of the local community, this could be the perfect role for you.

Role responsibilities:

• Sweep and Clean Denham’s bus shelters and remove rubbish and debris
• Empty rubbish bins in the play areas
• Check play equipment and look for any signs of damage and wear and tear. To make minor repairs as and when necessary
• Strim edges and borders
• Trim back branches
• Clean and dispose of debris and overgrowth
• Take rubbish to the tip as and when necessary
• Carry out emergency tasks, eg fallen tree branches, broken locks, damaged play equipment, clear broken glass and other tasks as and when necessary
• Cleaning of street signs in 30mph roads
• Litter picking and street cleaning
• Help with set up and set down at events
• To put up and take down banners

The ideal candidate:

• Experience of maintenance and repair jobs. Experience of a trade such as carpenter or gardener or other is desirable. Training can be provided for general maintenance including Health and Safety.
• To have your own transport to carry out tasks
• Ownership of tools required, though some tools and consumables will be provided as and when necessary
• To be able to travel to the waste disposal site to dispose of rubbish on a regular basis
• To be able to work on own initiative

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30am to 2pm although some flexibility will be needed.
