About the Role

We are seeking to recruit two experienced Senior Psychologists to join an interdisciplinary children's disability team based in  Cork.

The successful candidates will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic supports to children and young people aged 0–18 years and their families. Services are provided to children and young people with complex needs arising from disability, including intellectual, physical, sensory disabilities, Autism, and those who may be at risk of or presenting with developmental delay.

The team works within a family-centred and community-based model, supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential. Interventions are delivered in partnership with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated and effective supports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children and young people with complex developmental and disability-related needs.
  • Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to individualised care planning and service delivery.
  • Support and empower parents, caregivers, and family members through consultation, guidance, and therapeutic intervention.
  • Participate in service development, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary case discussions.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must:

  • Hold a university degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 or equivalent) with Psychology as a major subject and honours achieved in that subject.
  • Hold an Irish postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Department of Health.
  • Have a minimum of five years' satisfactory postgraduate experience in professional psychology. No more than three years of this experience may have been spent completing the postgraduate professional qualification, and at least two years must be post-qualification experience working as a professional psychologist.

Driving Requirements

  • Hold a full, clean driving licence.
  • Have access to transport suitable for carrying out the duties of the role
