Medical Scientist – Microbiology 

We are seeking a motivated Medical Scientist to join our Microbiology Laboratory team on a 12-month temporary contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine microbiology laboratory testing and sample processing.
• Support the delivery and development of high-quality laboratory services.
• Participate in quality assurance, quality control, and laboratory accreditation activities.
• Assist with laboratory safety, equipment evaluation, and service improvement initiatives.
• Provide cross-cover within the laboratory and participate in an on-call rota when required.
• Contribute to audits, inspections, and the maintenance of quality management systems.

Requirements:

• BSc in Biomedical Science or a related scientific discipline (or currently completing a CORU-approved qualification).
• CORU registration, eligibility for registration, or currently applying for registration.
• ACSLM membership or eligibility for membership.
• Professional, flexible, and team-oriented approach to work.
