Contract Details
- Position: Occupational Therapist – Staff Grade
- Hours: 1 WTE / 35 hours per week
- Location: Spraoi Centre, Portlaoise, Co. Laois
Role Overview
The successful candidate will work as an integral member of the Children’s Disability Network Team, supporting children and families through assessment, intervention, goal planning, and collaborative care planning.
The Occupational Therapist will contribute to the delivery of evidence-based, family-centred interventions aimed at maximising each child’s participation, independence, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention to children and young people with complex disabilities.
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Support children and families using a family-centred approach.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans and goals.
- Maintain appropriate clinical records and reports in line with professional standards.
- Participate in team meetings, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Liaise effectively with families, schools, community agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
Candidates for appointment must:
- Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
- Possess the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND
- Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapist Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
Salary
Salary will be aligned to the HSE Staff Grade Occupational Therapist pay scale.
