Social Care Worker – Tuam (Co. Galway)

TTM Healthcare Solutions (TTM) have partnered with a leading organisation to recruit a Social Care Worker for a mainstream residential service in Tuam.

Location: Tuam, Co. Galway

Service Details:

  • 4-bed mainstream residential service
  • Supporting young people aged 13–17 years

Hours:

  • 12-hour day shifts
  • Rotational rota (including weekends and public holidays)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people in a residential setting, promoting safety, wellbeing, and development
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with service users
  • Provide emotional support during periods of distress or transition
  • Assist with daily routines and life skills development
  • Promote independence while ensuring a structured, nurturing environment
  • Work collaboratively with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external professionals
  • Contribute to individual care plans and behavioural support strategies
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Social Care (or equivalent)
  • CORU registration (or eligibility to register)
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work a 24/7 rota

Applicants must hold one of the following:

  • EU Passport
  • GNIB Stamp 1G, 2, 4, 4D, 5, or 4 EUFam
  • Willingness to undergo Garda Vetting
  • International Police Clearance required (if lived outside Ireland for 6+ months after age 16)
