Senior Community Occupational Therapist 

Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT), Leopardstown

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Leopardstown. This is a full-time (or temp), community-based position with a minimum expected duration of 6 months, offering the chance to work in a senior clinical role within a multidisciplinary setting.

About the Role

The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide specialist occupational therapy services to children within the community, with a strong focus on school-based and home-based interventions. The role includes clinical leadership, complex case management, and active participation.

You will work closely with children, families, schools, and multidisciplinary colleagues to promote participation, independence, and development, while also supporting and guiding junior staff where required.

Key Duties

  • Deliver specialist OT assessment and intervention for children with complex developmental needs
  • Manage and prioritise a community-based caseload, including school and home visits
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to Staff Grade OTs and students as appropriate
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and MDT colleagues to develop and implement care plans
  • Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Complete high-quality reports, goal setting, and clinical documentation
  • Ensure practice aligns with service policies, professional standards, and best practice guidelines

Essential Criteria

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Relevant post-qualification experience, ideally within paediatrics or disability services
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and work autonomously
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Access to transport is advantageous due to community-based work

Contract & Hours

  • Full-time role or Temp role 
  • Minimum 6-month contract, with potential for extension
