Senior Dietitian (Staff Grade Considered)

Location: Roscommon Adult Mental Health Service
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Hours: 35 Hours per Week

Role Overview

Roscommon Adult Mental Health Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dietitian to provide temporary cover within the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics. The department consists of 12 registered dietitians working collaboratively across Mental Health Services.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Deputy Dietitian Manager for Mental Health Services and will play a key role in delivering high-quality nutritional assessment, intervention, and support to adult mental health service users.

Staff Grade Dietitians with relevant experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based dietetic assessment, treatment, and management plans for adult mental health service users.
• Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary mental health team.
• Provide nutritional education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional standards.
• Participate in service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
• Manage caseload effectively and prioritise clinical duties appropriately.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.
• Current registration as a Dietitian with CORU.
• Previous clinical dietetic experience, preferably within mental health or adult services.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Full drivers license and own car.

Desirable

• Experience working within Adult Mental Health Services.
• Previous experience in a Senior Dietitian role.
