Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Children's Disability Network Team in South Kildare West Wicklow on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in children's disabilities and will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions to support children and young people with a range of disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's functional abilities and occupational performance in various settings.- Develop individualized intervention plans to enhance the child's participation in daily activities and routines.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including families and other healthcare professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to care.- Provide guidance and education to families and caregivers on strategies to support the child's development and well-being.- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Occupational Therapy with registration with the relevant professional body.- Extensive experience working with children with disabilities.- Strong understanding of child development and the ability to apply therapeutic techniques tailored to individual needs.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, families, and professionals.- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
