Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team on a temporary basis at our long-term care facility in Birr, Co Offaly. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in rehabilitation and will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized therapy programs to support the physical and cognitive rehabilitation of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' functional abilities and develop personalized rehabilitation plans.
• Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to enhance residents’ independence and quality of life.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care delivery.
• Provide education and support to residents, families, and staff on rehabilitation techniques and adaptive equipment.
• Document and report on residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current registration with CORU
• Proven experience in a senior occupational therapy role, preferably in a long-term care setting.
• Expertise in rehabilitation and therapeutic techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Be a resident in Ireland and hold one of the following: EU passport or GNIB card with Stamp 1G, Stamp 2, Stamp 4, Stamp 4D, Stamp 5, or 4 EUFam.
• Willing to undergo Garda Vetting. 
• International Police Clearance required (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16).
