Job Title: Temporary Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Regional Hospital Mullingar
Duration: 3 months +
Shift pattern: Day shift
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join our healthcare team at Regional Hospital Mullingar on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in patients of all ages.
The purpose of this role is to provide a quality speech and language therapy service to adults with communication / swallowing difficulties in an acute setting

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech and language disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapy to patients with communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and families about communication disorders and strategies for improvement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- CORU registration
- Certification and competence in managing dysphagia/feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing disorders
- Must be a resident in Ireland and hold one of the following: EU passport or GNIB card with Stamp 1G, Stamp 2, Stamp 4, Stamp 4D, Stamp 5, or 4 EUFam.
- Willing to undergo Garda Vetting.
- International Police Clearance required (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of advanced therapeutic techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems.
