Job Description:

Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for patients in the acute psychiatric unit.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
- Provide evidence-based psychological therapies and interventions to patients with acute psychiatric conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure integrated patient care.
- Offer consultation and support to staff regarding psychological aspects of patient care.
- Participate in case conferences and contribute to treatment planning.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop management strategies for patients with complex needs.
- Supervise and mentor junior psychologists and psychology interns.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment outcomes.

Required Skills:

- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Expertise in delivering a range of psychological therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other relevant approaches.
- Experience working in acute psychiatric settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in maintaining patient records and utilizing healthcare software systems.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest research and practices in psychology.

Qualifications:

- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
- Professional registration with the relevant psychology board or authority.
- Significant experience in a clinical setting, preferably in acute psychiatric care.
- Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
