Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Medical Laboratory Assistant or in a healthcare/laboratory environment
• Knowledge of basic laboratory practices and infection control
• Familiarity with LIMS and Experience of using computer systems
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and nights, if required
• Right to work in the UK

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, sort, label, and prepare biological samples in accordance with lab protocols
• Print and manage barcode labels; prepare and dispatch specimen containers to wards and GP surgeries
• Support Biomedical Scientists with tasks contributing to authorised results
• Monitor stock levels, maintain inventory, and assist with the receipt and storage of consumables
• Perform cleaning, equipment decontamination, and proper sample storage post-analysis
• Follow health & safety guidelines, waste disposal procedures, and infection control protocols
