TTM Healthcare Solutions (TTM) have partnered with a leading organisation to hire an Occupational Therapist (Staff Grade) - Community Psychiatry of Later Life in Mullingar.

Location: Mullingar
Duration: This contract is for 12 months +

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions for elderly patients with psychiatric conditions in a community setting.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance patients' functional abilities and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and family members to ensure holistic care.
  • Conduct home visits to assess patients' living environments and recommend necessary modifications to improve safety and independence.
  • Deliver therapeutic group sessions and activities to promote social engagement and cognitive stimulation.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on coping strategies, adaptive techniques, and available community resources.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with CORU
  • Experience in elderly care preferably within a community setting.
  • Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a dynamic work environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for community visits.
  • Be a resident in Ireland and hold one of the following: EU passport or GNIB card with Stamp 1G, Stamp 2, Stamp 4, Stamp 4D, Stamp 5, or 4 EUFam.
  • Willing to undergo Garda Vetting. 
  • International Police Clearance required (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16).
