Clinical Manager- Paediatric Care (RGN or RCN) - Mayo and Galway

They are actively seeking to recruit a Clinical Manager- Paediatric Care (RGN or RCN Registered) for the locations of Mayo and Galway and the west of Ireland covering the areas of both Mayo and Galway (West of Ireland)

Overview 

  • Be an active member of the Clinical Leadership Team in the provision of Paediatric Care in the community.
  • Provide leadership and clinical supervision to staff thus improving standards and championing a high morale amongst the team.
  • Lead a team of community-based staff in the provision of excellent evidenced based Paediatric care
  • Develop and implement all aspects of the care plans based on the specific needs of the client and review accordingly.
  • Provide reports / clinical information to the relevant departments and Quality and Safety committee.
  • Anticipate and identify service improvements as part of our Continuous Quality Improvement program.
  • Work with the Operations team in ensuring that staffing is in place.
  • Carry out regular audit to ensure compliance with safeguarding systems in line with Policies and Procedures.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams in the acute and community settings.
  • Identify staff training needs and provide accordingly.
  • Recruit, select and effectively manage a dispersed workforce.

  • Qualifications:

  • Exhibits a passion for nursing, pursues continuous improvement, and advocates for patients’ and nurses’ viewpoints.
  • BSC in Children’s Nursing; RGN’s with significant Paediatric experience may also be considered.
  • Community and Paediatrics experience essential along with NMBI registration.
  • Excellent IT and Microsoft packages such as word and excel essential.
  • Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or business would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to manage a caseload of clients and corresponding staff and a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Attention to detail, having a systematic and structured approach to tasks and processes essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to liaise with persons of all levels of nursing to coordinate patient services

  • Specific Duties:

  • Care/Case Management                                                                                          
  •  
  • Compile and develop clinical care plans to meet the specific client needs at tendering and award stages.
  • Complete monthly clinical review to ensure ongoing relevance of care plans
  • Meet with the Families/Clients/HSE to fully onboard new cases to ensure the specific needs to all are met and exceeded.
  • Carry out detailed assessment of new cases to ensure all aspects of the onboarding process is tracked and completed as required.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders essential.
  • Carry out detailed investigations into all Incidents/Complaints and ensure they are recorded and action to prevent recurrence.

  • Conduct visits to Children/Families/HSE to ensure that the needs to all stakeholders are met.
  • Carry out specific audits and clinical assessments as required to ensure compliance to all policies and procedures.
  • Complete weekly/monthly/quarterly reports as directed by clinical compliance and governance program.
  • Work in conjunction with the Head of Paediatric Nursing and Clinical Director to ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and in compliance

  • Provide Leadership and clinical supervision to Nursing staff members.
  • Meet with the Nursing staff to fully onboard new cases to ensure the specific needs to all are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure all Nursing staff work to a high standard of care at all time
  • Carry out induction and onboarding of all new staff members as well as ensuring all CPD and relevant training is up to date.
  • Provide direct Nursing supervision to ensure the strict adherence to company policies, Procedures, guidelines and care plans.
  • Work directly with HR as required on selection, recruitment and management of relevant staff.                                                                                                       
  • Support the Client service Coordinator rostering/scheduling to ensure the safe delivery of care.
  • Supervise and provided oversight on shift management to ensure the delivery of the service to clients.
  • Have a degree of flexibility and availability to nursing staff given the diversity of clients and working hours.
