The Role: We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled Band 5 Nurses to join NIPS's healthcare team across various prisons in Northern Ireland. In this role, you will deliver high-quality nursing care to prisoners, working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans. This position presents a rewarding chance to positively impact lives while honing your nursing skills in a challenging yet fulfilling environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering exceptional nursing care to prisoners within the prison healthcare setting.
  • Conducting comprehensive health assessments and developing tailored care plans.
  • Administering medications and treatments according to protocols.
  • Collaborating with healthcare colleagues and external agencies to ensure holistic prisoner care.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in compliance with professional standards.
  • Contributing to health promotion initiatives and delivering educational sessions.
  • Responding effectively to medical emergencies and providing immediate nursing interventions.

 

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with an active NMC pin.
  • Minimum one year of post-registration experience in healthcare.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Dedication to providing compassionate care without judgment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic prison healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
