Job Description

Currently, we are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Data Center Electrical Commissioning Lead to support major mission-critical projects in the Northern Virginia area. This role focuses on the commissioning and testing of critical electrical infrastructure for hyperscale and enterprise data centre environments. You will play a key role in ensuring reliability, efficiency, and operational performance for leading technology clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning and testing activities for generators, ATS, UPS, and redundant power systems
  • Conduct FAT, SAT, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) across mission-critical environments
  • Perform power quality analysis, thermal imaging inspections, and review commissioning documentation
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Prepare commissioning reports, technical updates, and testing documentation
  • Mentor junior commissioning personnel and support onsite project execution

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in electrical commissioning, electrical engineering, or related trades
  • Previous experience on data centre or critical infrastructure projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of UPS, ATS, generators, emergency power systems, and redundant electrical infrastructure
  • Experience with power quality analysis and thermal imaging
  • Familiarity with Tier III & Tier IV data centre environments
  • OSHA 30 preferred. CxA, CCP, BCxP, or similar certifications advantageous

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) or equivalent certification (BCxP, CCP, CPMP).
  • Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) certification.
  • Certification in Power Quality Analysis.
  • Experience with LEED and energy efficiency standards for data centres.
  • Previous experience on hyperscale, mission-critical, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Flexibility to travel frequently or relocate to project sites as required.
