The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive Finance Manager to become the right-hand support to the CFO and lead a team of six finance professionals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in finance, a strategic mindset, and an interest in advancing the sustainability and cybersecurity initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Oversee a team of six accounting staff, ensuring effective workflow, team development, and efficient financial operations.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Support the CFO in preparing accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, while offering insights and recommendations to drive financial decision-making.
- Sustainability Reporting: Take ownership of our sustainability reporting efforts, working cross-functionally to develop, monitor, and report on sustainability metrics and initiatives.
- Cybersecurity Awareness: Collaborate with IT and management to ensure strong cybersecurity practices within financial operations, including awareness of data protection and fraud prevention strategies.
- Insurance & Claims Management: Oversee processes for insurance claims and personal injuries cases, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and proactive management. Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and technology, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Construction-Specific Financial Management: Apply your industry expertise to manage job costing, contract accounting, and compliance with construction industry regulations and practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven Financial Management Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance management role, ideally within the construction sector.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop finance teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong aptitude for financial systems and technology, with experience in advanced Excel, ERP systems, and construction accounting software.
- Sustainability Focus: A genuine interest in sustainability practices and reporting, with a willingness to lead in this area.
- Cybersecurity Awareness: Interest in cybersecurity as it relates to financial data protection and fraud prevention, with an ability to work closely with IT on relevant initiatives.
- Risk Management: Knowledge of insurance claims management, particularly in relation to personal injuries, is a strong advantage.
- Education: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
