Job Description

Medior/senior Python Data Engineer

start date: asap
end date: 03-03-2026
location: Arnhem
Hybrid - 2 days a week in the office

The energy transition presents us with major challenges. The electricity grid must not only be significantly modified but also used smarter and more efficiently.

As a Data Engineer, you play a crucial role in this. You come up with solutions that seamlessly match supply and demand while ensuring a safe, reliable and accessible grid for everyone. You will contribute to a more sustainable future and a stable energy grid.

The energy transition is impossible without you as a Data Engineer

How much space is left on the grid? What adjustments are needed? And what happens in the event of a malfunction?

To answer these questions, they use net calculations: simulating their electricity grid. This helps them to provide insight into future scenarios and failures. To be able to use netting, they need a complete and accurate model, for which they bring together data from different sources.

With their scrum team, they are building a spin-in-the-web application that generates reliable netting models for a wide range of users.

Their close-knit scrum team consists of six developers/engineers, a business analyst, scrum master, product owner and experts in grid models and network computing.

Together they work hybrid (both at home and at the office in Arnhem or Amsterdam) and they see each other on location on average twice a week.

They are looking for an enthusiastic and assertive team player who will help us achieve their goals faster and advance the energy transition. You have a proactive attitude, think in terms of solutions and take responsibility. You develop a robust and future-proof back-end in Python and are flexible enough to step in where necessary to make every sprint a success. In addition, you know how to set priorities and work accurately, so that our application remains reliable and scalable.

Your background

You can best be described as assertive, creative, result-oriented and a team player. You like the challenge of setting up code accurately and manageably, know how to build a project from scratch and like to look for new solutions that really help their end users.
