Data Management Officer
32 to 40 hours | Hybrid | Amsterdam

The Role
Our client is seeking a Data Management Officer to join their Data department. In this role, you will collaborate with Change, Compliance, and IT teams to manage data risks. Acting as an ambassador and advisor for Data Quality, you will contribute to building a culture of continuous improvement in Data Quality across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
As a Data Management Officer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with Change, Compliance, and IT teams to manage data risks and changes within the agreed risk appetite.
  • Defining, monitoring, and reporting on data management risk and control indicators.
  • Maintaining and implementing the data governance framework and procedures.
  • Assisting with and coordinating data quality issue management.
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of business data dictionaries, data quality requirements, and controls for critical data domains.
  • Assisting data stewards in identifying critical data and defining data quality rules.
  • Contributing to supplier assessments, contract negotiations, and reviews of existing suppliers in the area of Data Management.
  • Providing training in data management for roles specific to data governance.
  • Acting as an ambassador and advisor for Data Quality and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Team
This role is part of the Data department and reports to the Data Management Lead. The Data Management Officer will be responsible for supporting the company-wide implementation of the data governance framework and assisting with data governance activities.

Experience and Skills

Experience and Knowledge:

  • 1–3 years of professional experience in data management and project management.
  • Knowledge of data management frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or DCAM.

Qualifications:

  • Recognized university degree in a data-related discipline.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to build effective and collaborative relationships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (Dutch and/or German is a plus).
