One of our American curriculum international schools in Abu Dhabi is looking for an experienced and innovative History/Humanities Teacher to join their team. With a focus on teaching pupils to become future leaders of the UAE, this school offers world-class education for pupils aged 4-17 within an advanced learning environment.

In this exciting permanent role, you will join an outstanding international team of inspirational leaders and teachers with a track record of success. You will enjoy excellent student-teacher ratios and access to state-of-the-art technology whilst enriching the learning of each and every pupil.

A talented and energetic History/Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for engaging equivalent KS3, KS4 and possibly KS5 pupils in History, encouraging them as young historians to ask questions and challenge established ideas. 

You will need to have a passion for your subject, ideally with a m
inimum of 3 years' experience teaching History and/or Humanities and thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and educational guidelines. You will be an excellent communicator, with the desire to work collaboratively with a multinational teaching team. You must also have strong moral values and discipline, keen to combine international standards with Emirati values and traditions.

The start date for this History/Humanities Teacher role is 18th August.

Skills and requirements:

  • PGCE with QTS or bachelor’s degree in Education (or other teaching qualification)
  • Ideally a minimum 3 years' experience teaching History/Humanities
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and educational guidelines 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-national teaching team
  • A well-organised, committed and energetic teacher
  • DBS on the Update service (or willing to apply)
  • Available to start in August.
