Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance – Africa (GRC)

Location: Africa (flexible – travel required)

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading FRP composite manufacturer expanding their governance capability across Africa.

This role safeguards the business across product, process, safety, and regulatory domains — ensuring the business operates safely, legally, and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Compliance

• Lead an integrated GRC framework across product standards, processes, and regulatory requirements

Product & Process Compliance

• Own product compliance, certification, and independent sign-off against customer and industry specifications

Quality Assurance

• Own the QMS, drive CAPA and non-conformance management, and oversee the laboratory function

Risk Management

• Develop an enterprise risk framework and provide risk visibility to the MD and Executive Team

SHE Leadership

• Own SHE governance aligned to OHSA, driving a proactive safety culture

Audits & Certifications

• Lead all internal and external audits (ISO, customers, regulators) and maintain certifications

Requirements

• Degree or National Diploma in Engineering, Safety, Quality, or Risk Management
• 5–8+ years in GRC, quality, or SHE leadership within manufacturing or industrial environments
• ISO 9001 QMS experience essential
• Product compliance in regulated industries (rail, infrastructure, utilities) advantageous
• Strong knowledge of South African legislation including OHSA
